This Florida-based broadcaster broadcasts 38 radio stations mainly focused on smooth jazz. The broadcasting is done thanks to Shoutcast. It’s a real success.
Former talented FM professional, Doug Sinclair has long understood the interest in developing radio stations on the web. So in 2013, he embarked on the adventure and quite naturally joined Shoutcast to broadcast his first radios.
“I felt there was a need for Smooth Jazz in the marketplace, along with several other stations I created – Smooth Jazz CD 101.9 New York, Smooth Jazz Tampa Bay, and Smooth Jazz Florida we have succeeded to fill in the void…”
With his distinctive seriousness, Doug carefully programmed his radios with as much precision as if it were an FM radio. And it worked. Seven years later, there are still 38 stations operating on Shoutcast, some, like Smooth Jazz New York City, are tied to a locality, others, like lovesmoothjazz.com, refer more simply to the musical style they broadcast.
“Quality Music updated daily as releases arrive from the promoters and recording artists and High-quality digital sound processing“ adds Doug explaining his success. He adds, by way of advice to other broadcasters: “Stay the course – it takes time, provide quality station operations and Radio automation, Plan your station to fill a need that is not being addressed by anyone else. We provide a stable, steady, consistent form of content so they know what to expect & keep coming back for more.”
He concludes: “We have found the SHOUTcast support staff to be extremely responsive and available for our 38 web stations. Shoutcast is continually improving and updating their Internet Radio Facilities to the latest state-of-the-art broadcasting platform… The future looks bright for internet radio broadcasting thanks to SHOUTCAST.“
